Elizabethan Style stool 2020
The client has a superb collection of really old English, Spanish and Italian furniture but needed a stool to rest a13thC sculpture on.
I assembled this piece out of a variety of pieces of oak from the workshop including some 17thC panelling, 19thC French church pews, 1950’s American oak, and some NZ grown English oak I use for making rustic furniture.
I also recycled a bunch of old nails into the project as well as used a chemical stain to artificially speed up the aging process.
